QR Boom Privacy Policy

Last updated February 1, 2026.

Your privacy is important to us at QR Boom. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your information when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information collected automatically when you use the Service.

Account Information

When you create an account we collect details such as your name, email address, and any profile information returned by third-party authentication providers (e.g., Google, Facebook, GitHub) if you sign up using OAuth.

Payment & Billing

If you purchase a paid plan or other paid feature, we collect billing information necessary to process the transaction, such as billing name and email. Payment card data is collected and processed by our third-party payment processor (for example Stripe) and is not stored by QR Boom except where explicitly stated.

User Content and QR Code Data

We collect the content you upload or provide (for example, the destination URLs, files, metadata, and custom settings for QR codes) as well as usage metadata (creation date, scan counts, IP addresses associated with scans, and related analytics).

Scan Data & Scan Links (Short Links)

When a QR code created through the Service is scanned, we may collect scan-related information such as the timestamp, the scanning device's IP address, approximate geolocation derived from the IP, the user agent, and the referrer. If you enable analytics for a QR code, QR Boom may also generate a scan link (also referred to as a short link) that redirects to the destination you configured. Scan links (short links) function as redirectors and may be used in place of the original destination for sharing or tracking. We use scan data to provide analytics, detect fraud or abuse, and improve the Service.

If you request deletion of your account or associated QR codes we will delete or anonymize scan data and scan link mappings as required by law and our retention policies. Note that cached or aggregated analytics may persist in anonymized form for internal analytics or backups.

Usage & Analytics

We automatically collect information about your use of the Service, including IP address, device and browser information, pages and features used, and event and performance data. We may use cookies and similar technologies to collect this information.
